Fleet and Crookham Local History Group

About Us

Fleet and Crookham Local History Group was founded in 1985 for people with an interest in the history of Fleet, Church Crookham, Crookham Village and their immediate area in this corner of northeast Hampshire.

What we do:-
•    Researching, recording and preserving the history of the area.
•
•    Providing a programme of talks and visits, workshops and public displays.
•
•    Publishing newsletters, papers and other literature.
•
•    Encouraging the establishment of a permanent collection of photographs, documents and artefacts relating to the local history.
•
•    Taking such steps as necessary to preserve and/or retain buildings or artefacts of an historic nature.

We have nine meetings a year with talks on local history, plus some visits.

We publish three newsletters a year for members.

We present displays in Fleet Library, Hart Shopping Centre and at Dogmersfield Fete.

We run 'Meet the Local History Detectives' sessions to which the public are invited to ask questions, share memories and offer items to our archive.

We welcome enquiries about local history and offers of information.
